Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush, an American pop boy group
was founded in the year 2009. The group is made up of Kendall Schmidt, James
Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega. They signed their first contract
with Nick Records in 2009. Then, Columbia Records transferred them to their new
label. The group was featured in Nickelodeon's TV show Big Time Rush. The show
aired from November 28 in 2009 until July 25, 2013. The pilot episode showcased
the group's first single promo, "Big Time Rush". The group released
three studio albums: BTR in 2010 and Elevate (2011) as well as 24/Seven (2013).
In 2014, the band stopped performing for an indefinite period that ran until
2021. The group resumed live shows and released "Call It Like I See The
Album". Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush to a recording deal in 2009,
concurrently with the tv show, Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon then partnered with
Columbia/Epic Label Group in order to create the series and release new music.
For the series, their first single, "Big Time Rush", was released on
November 29th the 29th of November, 2009. Officially announced by Nickelodeon
in November 2009, the series was aired for the first time in the US. It was
then released internationally. It premiered in a one hour special preview of
the series and it is currently the show's theme for opening. Promo singles were
also made available by the show, which included "City is Ours" (with
Big Time Rush) and "Any Kind of Guy". Big Time Rush also recorded the
Play song "Famous" that was written by the singer. The song was
released on iTunes on June 29 2010. The second song, "Halfway There",
was also released to iTunes shortly after the premiere of the series. The song
quickly became the first song to chart on Billboard Hot 100. Due to the sales of
digital music, it reached number 93. On September 21 in 2010, Big Time Rush
released second single "Till I Forget About You" to celebrate the
release of their debut album. On October 11, 2010 the album, dubbed BTR, was
made available to the general public. The album peaked at number 3 on Billboard
200 and sold 67,000 copies in its first week.
