Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby (a lawyer) and Chris Watson (a French mother). She was moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five, where she attended the Dragon School. Emma realized when she was six years old that she wanted to be an actress. For a number years she studied at the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught dance, singing, acting, and more. The stagecoach was her main performer and played the role of the lead in a number of Stagecoach productions. In 1999, casting started for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) it was the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by her Oxford theater instructor, who introduced casting agents to Emma. After eight auditions David Heyman revealed to Emma and Rupert Grint (other applicants) that they were chosen to play Hermione Gringer, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the top-grossing film of 2001, breaking records in terms of opening-day sales and opening weekend take-offs. The film's performances as well as those of its three young actors received praise from the critics. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper widely published, described Emma's performance as "admirable." Then, Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film, winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in the Feature Film. Following the release of the first film in the highly successful Harry Potter franchise, Emma became one of the most popular actresses across the world. For the next ten years she was the part of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma has received two Critics Choice Awards nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her work in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
