Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7, 1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theatre writer and actor, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. Her brothers older than her are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who have also been actors. Evan as well as her brothers often appeared at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, which her father started and where he serves as executive director. At the age of five she was screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 and has seen success since acting in television show, TV movie and feature films. She's appeared in Practical Magic (1998) and also starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She the film followed with Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her breakout performance as Tracy in "Thirteen" was rewarded with an Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. At the time of this SAG nomination she was the youngest actress to be recognized in the Leading Role category. For her role as Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011), she received an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Her dramatic portrayal of Stephanie Rourke's estranged kid in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her acclaim. She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a certified dancer. She enjoys singing, swimming as well as rollerblade. She also enjoys back on horses. She is black belt in tae kwon do. Keeps in touch with the majority of her Once and Again (1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan as well as Shane West.
