Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born on the 2nd of December 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. As a youngster, Britney attended dance classes, and she was great in gymnastics, winning numerous competitions and the like. But, more than anything, Britney loved to sing. Britney applied for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) at the age of 8. She was denied due to her young age. Her next audition was for "Ruthless" Off-Broadway production, where she starred as the title character for two years. At the age of 11, she again tried for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and, this time, made it as a mouseketeer along with several stars of the day (Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez from *NSYNC as well as Ryan Gosling). However, her most notable break was in the latter part of the 1990s when she was signed as a Jive Recording Artist. Britney was an enormous success following her first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby one more time" in 1999. The album also sold over 13 million copies (as as of July 2001) of her follow-up album "Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a bigger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. From the time she was a kid, Britney was always fixing to become a famous singer with her idols, including Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the young Britney could always be heard singing, regardless of what was happening around her. After taking extensive vocal and dance lessons, as well as taking part in numerous shows and fairs, Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) TV show [1989-1994] when she 8, however, she was too young for the role. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in a variety of TV commercials as well as an off-Broadway musical, "Ruthless", where she was an understudy for Natalie Portman. She discovered her love of dance and music 2 years later when she auditioned once more for "Mickey Mouse" and was able to win the role along with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
