Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977 in Miami, Florida. American electro-house musician as well as record producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi & Rocky Aoki. His father, a former wrestler was also co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older brothers, Kana (sometimes called Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, where he was on the varsity badminton team. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, was enrolled at UC Santa Barbara. He received two degrees in sociology, and another in feminist studies. In his college days, he recorded do-it-yourself records & ran underground events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He was active in student activism , and he founded an Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. In the early 20s, Dim Mak had founded his own record company, known as Dim Mak after his childhood hero Bruce Lee. The label came out with I'm IN THE HOUSE, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter ego of will.i.am. The track reached the top spot at No. 29 in the U.K. singles chart in the first week. The track later made it into the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, placing in the top 5 on both charts. It was included on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter was able to confirm that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on the single.
