Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. She made her feature film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role featured in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte played Taffin (in 1998) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody began modelling after being offered by a professional photographer. The result was an enviable modeling career in the commercial world. Doody was very determined not to do glamour or nude work. This rule extended into the acting profession. When she was spotted by the director of casting for a James Bond movie, she was cast in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named one of the top twelve promising young actors in the year 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody, who was only 18 at the time she played the part of Doody in the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) which starred Mickey Rourke. She is the youngest Bond Girl to date. Another early movie was a small part as IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) which starred Mickey Rourke. Doody was an actress in silent films in a 1987 film adaptation of The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first leading role. The episode aired in 1988 with Dawn French, John Hurt and Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking probably her most high-profile part to date as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. She then moved to Hollywood. She replaced Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson role. Then she played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. After nearly a decade from screen Doody was back in the acting world by playing a minor role in the 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an awards ceremony scene. Her roles include the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust, and a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Doody appeared on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later shelved. She began her first two seasons on the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The following year, she starred as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she received the Almeria the tierra de cine prize and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
