Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was an athletically inclined child and found her passion for sprinting in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial attempt she made, she was ranked 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas a contract as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
